In 2008 Sky1 announced the return of a family favourate TV show; Nearly a decade after it was lost, Gladiators returned to our screens and 12 new super heros were born. Sam Bond was amoung the All New line up as Atlas.
Millions of viewers across the UK (and in other countries around the world) tuned in to see the hopeful contenders take on the might of the awesome new Gladiators in the toughest challenges ever seen on TV.
The show filmed on two giant sound stages at Shepperton Studios, Middlesex, home to blockbuster film productions including The Golden Compass, Atonement and Troy. Sky1 television and Shine Ltd TV productions built one of the biggest studio sets in UK Television history to house the Gladiators arena. The two giant stages at Shepperton Studios had become the new home to the iconic Gladiators show with legendary events such as Duel, Hang Tough and of course, the dreaded Eliminator.
In 2009 the second series aired from January through untill May. The second series was bigger and better than the first with 6 new Gladiators and even more events. The new series was such a success, a unique Gladiators range of Merchandise was released including Action Figures and Skateboards.
Atlas is a natural bodybuilder competing for the British National Bodybuilding Federation and the National Physiques Association. In 2006, he came third in the national championships behind two professional bodybuilders. Atlas is one of the highest ranked amateur natural bodybuilders and hopes to get his pro card this year. Outside of the arena, Atlas is a charity fundraiser.
